Tragic Deaths in Las Vegas: Mother and Daughter Found Dead in Hotel Room

Las Vegas authorities are investigating the heartbreaking deaths of Tawnia McGeehan and her daughter, Addi Smith, who were found dead in a hotel room at the Rio Hotel and Casino. The incident occurred just a day after police had received a request for a welfare check.

The mother and daughter failed to appear for a weekend cheerleading competition, prompting authorities to search for them. Police discovered a note in the room, and preliminary reports indicate that Tawnia McGeehan shot her daughter before taking her own life.

According to a police statement, officers had attempted to contact the pair after the welfare check request but did not believe they were in immediate danger at the time.

Addi’s cheerleading team expressed profound grief over the loss: “With the heaviest hearts, we share the devastating news that our sweet athlete Addi has passed away. She was so beyond loved, and she will always be a part of the UXC family. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
