Sfenson Simeus Obituary, Death; 26-Year-Old Killed in Interstate Shooting
The Lake Worth community is mourning the tragic loss of Sfenson Simeus, a 26-year-old whose life was cut short in a senseless interstate shooting. The fatal incident occurred late at night along Interstate 65 in Giles County, when deputies responded around 11:30 p.m. to reports of a vehicle crash involving injuries. Investigators later determined the crash followed gunfire from another vehicle.
Sfenson Simeus, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Elda Simeus, 23, of Plainfield, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility, where she remains in stable condition.
Friends and family remember Sfenson as ambitious, resilient, and compassionate—a devoted son and friend whose positivity left a lasting impact. Community members, including Joe Purvis, have condemned the act, calling it “a senseless and cowardly act,” as authorities continue to search for those responsible.
The Simeus family has announced that details regarding the obituary, memorial, funeral, and visitation will be shared in the coming days. This tragic loss highlights the ongoing concerns around violence on our roads and the need for community support during times of grief.
