“American Idol” Season 24 Dedicated to Late Music Supervisor Robin Kaye
Los Angeles, CA – February 17, 2026 – The premiere of American Idol Season 24 opened with a heartfelt tribute, dedicating the season to Robin Kaye, the show’s longtime music supervisor. Kaye, who worked with American Idol from 2009 to 2023, tragically lost her life alongside her husband, Thomas Deluca, on July 10, 2025. Their bodies were discovered four days later, and both had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the killings as “senseless,” which occurred shortly after the couple returned from the grocery store. Raymond Boodarian, 22, was charged in connection with the murders. He was later declared mentally incompetent to stand trial and committed to a state hospital.
“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her,” the show said in a statement. “Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
Season 24 now carries forward Kaye’s legacy, honoring her contributions to the show and the music community.
