Mor Ilderton Earns Golden Ticket on ‘American Idol’ with Heartfelt Original Song “Strong”
February 16, 2026 – Nashville, TN – 22-year-old Mor Ilderton captivated the judges and audience of American Idol Season 24 with his emotional, self-penned acoustic ballad, “Strong,” earning a coveted golden ticket to Hollywood.
During the Belmont University auditions, Ilderton shared his deeply personal story before performing. He revealed that he lost his biological mother at age two and was raised by his grandmother, Sandy, whom he calls “mom.”
“I lost my biological mom when I was two years old. My dad ended my mom’s life,” Ilderton said. “The song is about seeing my mom’s picture for the first time and pouring out my emotions.”
